In Indonesia, motorbike sales experienced a 7.3% year-on-year increase, reaching 567,173 units in September 2025, following a modest 0.7% rise in August. This marked the second consecutive month of annual growth, spurred by the central bank's decision to reduce interest rates by 150 basis points since the previous September. Despite this improvement, overall motorbike sales for the first three quarters of 2025 were down by 0.7% compared to the same period in 2024. On a month-to-month comparison, sales declined by 1.9% in September, following a 1.5% reduction in August. In 2024, motorbike sales grew by 1.5%, achieving 6.3 million units, aligning with the forecasted range of 6.2 to 6.5 million units predicted by the Association of Indonesian Motorcycle Industry (AISI). For the year 2025, AISI has set a sales target between 6.4 and 6.7 million units. Nonetheless, the association mentioned last month that it might consider revising its annual projections if sales challenges continue to be significant in the coming months.
