21.08.202510:16:00UTC+00Latvia Producer Prices Fall for Two Consecutive Months

In Latvia, producer prices experienced a year-on-year decrease of 0.6% in July 2025, following a revised decline of 0.8% in the previous month. This marks the second consecutive month of deflation in producer prices. The decline was mainly attributed to the deceleration in cost growth within sectors such as water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, which saw an increase of 8.8% compared to 9.3% in June, and the manufacturing sector, which recorded a growth rate of 1.6% from 1.7%. Additionally, there was a lesser decline in the electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector, which dropped by 13.1% compared to a 14.7% decrease in June. Conversely, costs rose at a faster pace in the mining and quarrying sector, with an increase of 9.6% compared to 8.5% previously. On a monthly basis, producer prices saw a slight decline of 0.1% in July, marking the fifth consecutive month of decline and showing a moderation from the revised 0.8% downturn recorded in June.
