In October 2025, Slovakia's annual inflation rate eased to 3.7%, down from 4.3% in September, aligning with market expectations. This represents the lowest inflation level since April. The reduction in inflation was driven by slower price increases in several sectors: food and non-alcoholic beverages saw a rise of 1.4% compared to 3.6% in September; clothing and footwear increased by 2.6% versus 3.3%; furnishings, household equipment, and routine household maintenance grew by 3.1% compared with 3.3%; the health sector saw a rise of 2.5% down from 2.9%; transport costs increased by 3.4% from 4.2%; communication costs rose by 4.3% compared to 4.8%; education costs climbed by 8.9% versus 9.8%; and restaurant and hotel prices increased by 8.9% compared to 9.3%. On the other hand, the most notable cost increases were seen in alcoholic beverages and tobacco, which rose by 6.1% from 5.5%, and recreation and culture, up by 5.4% from 5.0%. Housing and utilities costs remained stable at 2.5%. Month-over-month, consumer prices decreased by 0.1%, matching forecasts, following a 0.2% increase in September. Meanwhile, core inflation, which excludes goods with regulated prices, reduced to a six-month low of 3.0% in October, down from 3.6% in the previous month.
