05.08.202609:00:00UTC+00Euro Zone PPI Inflation Eases to 4.6% in June, Extending Disinflation Trend

Producer price inflation in the Euro Zone continued to cool in June 2026, with the Producer Price Index (PPI) rising 4.6% year-over-year, down from 5.9% in May 2026. The latest figures, updated on 5 August 2026, underline a steady disinflationary trend at the factory gate level across the currency bloc.

On a year-over-year basis, the June reading shows that price pressures faced by producers are easing compared with the same month a year earlier, and at a faster pace than in May. The May figure represented a 5.9% increase compared with May of the previous year, while June’s 4.6% rise reflects a further moderation in input and output price growth.

The ongoing slowdown in PPI is closely watched by markets, as it can signal future movements in consumer inflation and potential shifts in the European Central Bank’s policy stance. Softer producer prices may relieve some cost pressure on firms and, over time, could translate into milder inflation at the consumer level across the Euro Zone.
