In July 2025, Morocco experienced a notable rise in its annual inflation rate, which climbed to 0.5%, compared to a 12-month low of 0.4% in the previous month. This represents the highest rate since April, largely fueled by an increase in the cost of food and non-alcoholic beverages. Prices in this category rose by 0.9%, marking the most significant uptick in four months, following a 0.8% rise in June. Inflation rates for furnishings and household equipment also saw an increase, registering at 0.8% up from 0.4%. Similarly, inflation was slightly higher for alcoholic beverages and tobacco, at 3.5% compared to 3.4%, and for miscellaneous goods and services, which went from 1.4% to 1.5%. Stability was observed in sectors such as housing and utilities (0.6%), clothing and footwear (0.7%), healthcare (0.2%), and education (2.3%). Conversely, there was a deceleration in inflation for restaurants and hotels, dropping to 3.4% from 3.8%, while transport prices decreased at a reduced rate of -2.9%, compared to -3.4% in June. On a monthly scale, consumer prices saw a slight decrease of 0.1% in July, after a 0.4% rise in June.
