Consumer confidence in Denmark experienced a downturn in August 2025, with the index dropping to -17.2 from -15.7 in the previous month. This decline is primarily attributed to growing pessimism about the country's economic outlook for the coming year, which decreased further to -25.5 from -23.5 in July. Additionally, reflections on the economic scenario over the past year deteriorated to -26.3 compared to -21.9, and there was a more negative perception of families' financial situations compared to the previous year, which fell to -13 from -11.1. However, there was a slight improvement in how households view their current financial situations, with the figure increasing to -5.4 from -5.8. Outside of the confidence indicator, concerns over unemployment in the next twelve months continued to rise, moving up to 11.9 from 11, although expectations for price developments over the forthcoming year showed some relief, dipping to 35.4 from 36.1.
