Romania experienced a significant rise in annual producer inflation, with rates increasing by 2.70% in July 2025 compared to the same month the previous year. This stands in contrast to the revised decline of 0.29% observed in June, marking the fastest inflation rate since March. The increase was primarily driven by significant price hikes in the sectors of water supply, sewerage, waste management, and remediation activities, which rose 10.46% compared to 9.29% in June. Additionally, there were notable increases in manufacturing at 2.75%, up from 2.15%, and a sharp rebound in the electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply sector, which surged to 8.46% from a drop of 7.37% in the previous month. Conversely, there was a deceleration in price growth within the mining and quarrying sector, which eased to 4.28% from 5.03%. On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 4.95%, a significant acceleration from the modest 0.10% rise recorded in the prior period.
